Bridal Wedding Showers for Bride to Be

As the host of an upcoming bridal wedding shower, your chief responsibility is to make sure everyone who attends is going to have a great time. To make sure you accomplish that goal, you'll have to start early and making guest-focused decisions early on. And that begins with the invitations.

Choosing a theme is one of the first things you should do, if you're going to have one for the shower. That's because the invitations you choose should reflect that theme. For example, a lingerie bridal shower should have invitations which will immediately give guests a sense of what to expect from the event. The good is you'll find plenty of choices to make any theme by shopping online.

Because you want to have as many guests as possible at the bridal wedding shower, you'll want to get them to the post office in a timely fashion. Give guests at least two weeks to make their arrangements. That's a pretty standard cushion for most events. After all, guests make have to make some big changes in their own schedules in order to be able to attend the event.

Beach Weeding Prom-Unique Wedding Dress

Beaches can be one of the most romantic settings for a wedding. Many girls (and boys) dream of a wedding at an exotic location such as a beach or a mountaintop. And what better season than the summer to hold your wedding outdoors in such exotic locations. Beach wedding parties could be among the most enjoyable and memorable. Imagine the cool moist breeze blowing across your face and caressing your hair, the roar of the waves, the splashing water droplets and the sand castles and dunes, and you have an idea of how exciting and memorable it could be.

A beach themed wedding requires its own planning to make it really good. Among the things that you will need to bestow a lot of attention are your party favors. You should select your party favors to suit the theme of the beach wedding.

Party favors as a custom date back several centuries. In our present society, these have blossomed into a beautiful expression of appreciation for the presence of our guests. People select wedding favors that reflect their culture. Wedding party favors also make a personal style statement. To make the entire event harmonious it is important that the favors are in sync with the theme that you have chosen. It should also be something that can be preserved over the years and related to with pride and joy. The selection of party favors is thus a very important part of your planning for the wedding.

What are the possibilities for beach wedding party favors that will incorporate all the above considerations?

One of the first things that come to mind when we talk of beaches is a seashell. Objects made of seashells are among the obvious choices. A seashell bookmark is something that your book loving guests are sure to appreciate and keep with them for a long time. You could attach these to the placeholders or keep them in a tray for the guests to pick up. Seashell wine bottle stoppers form another good item that is made of seashells, blend with the theme and will be useful to your guests.

Talking of seashells, you could also consider them, in their own right, as party favors. You could select attractively colored and shaped seashells and pack a few of them in small bags, making each of them a gift by itself. There are stores that can give you attractively packed seashells that you can use right away.

tarfish tea light candles can make for an attractive decoration that fits into your theme as well as form a unique gift item. You could combine these two ideas, and decorate the tables with these and also give them away as gifts, so that your guests get what they see!

Another thing that you could consider is a bag of artificial sea creatures. It could be a charming gift that would add to the fun, accentuate your beach theme and is sure to be maintained as a memento. Crafted pieces that contain other sea creatures, and are utilitarian, can also be considered. For example, a dolphin wine stopper would provide good utility value and be an attractive sea based theme for the gift, involving one of the most loved and talked about sea creatures. .

Cookies and mint tins that blend with the beach theme are other things that can be considered. For example, a carefully designed tin that has beach scenery, or pictures of items found along beaches, could make for a very useful and artistic item.

There are many other themes and items that you can consider. You can use your imagination and come up with something unique yourself. We hope that the few examples that we have given above will give you a lot more fresh ideas to help you in this.

Beautiful Wavy Wedding Gown

Beautiful Wavy Wedding GownBeautiful Wavy Wedding GownWhat a busy wedding season I am having this year - more Culture Shock brides than EVER before, so it's been an exciting, energetic, highly productive and rather exhausting few months for my team & I!

And to add to our current "buzz" of excitement, the latest BRIDE magazine has hit the new stands, with page after glossy page of the latest Culture Shock Couture gowns being featured - woo hood!! This issue also highlights one of my recent brides' wedding story, a fabulous 4-page spread with the lovely Allana and her husband Ni ma both looking sow happy and FABULOUS!

The fashion pages are bursting with beautiful photographs, all shot by the amazing Peter Collie, at various locations around Sydney and beyond... for one of the editorial stories the BRIDE team travelled to Coal cliff, MSW, and shot in the most divine waterfall and park lands (without even getting my sample gowns marked at all - well done, guys!!)Beautiful Wavy Wedding Gown

I've attached some of the photos here, which also feature the skilled hair & make-up artistry of Paul Begged, including an AWESOME up-do which i just adore.

Beautiful Wavy Wedding Gown

As a designer, it's really rewarding and invigorating to see my gowns so beautifully photographed and styled in ways that I may never have thought of myself! When i design wedding gowns i guess i have a vision of the kind of bride that might wear that particular cut, shape, fabric or colour - and then i see someoneBeautiful Wavy Wedding Gowne totally
different to my original vision (like the
models shown here), wearing the gowns so perfectly, as if designed just for them - it's such a great feeling and never fails to surprise or delight me!

Grab a copy of the latest BRIDE magazine, Issue #60, (look for the green cover) at your local newsagent, or visit their website at www. bride.com.au

Catch you soon, now back to all those gorgeous gowns we need to finish...

Origami Couture Wedding Gown

Origami Couture Wedding GownWe recently did a FABULOUS photo shoot of a brand new COUTURE BRIDAL sample gown that I am absolutely thrilled with! Fresh from my studio workroom, this totally original Culture Shock design will soon be appearing in bridal magazines and on my website, too. We have named it the "Origami" Gown...

My team & I created this pure silk wedding gown with the ancient Japanese art of Origami (paper folding) in mind... we used a metallic silk for the bodice, which we folded, draped and tucked into an asymetrical neckline. The diagonally-shaped waistband actually wraps firmly around the body and ties at one side with twisted silk cording, and little hand-made fans, to visually slim and cinch in the waistline, and there are several deeply folded vertical pleats in the skirt, to add length and height to the bride's figure. The gown has a full train at the back, which can be hooked up for dancing, etc.
Origami Couture Wedding Gown
The overall effect we were aiming for in this new design is a SCULPTURAL SILHOUETTE with a fuller A-line skirt, so that brides with OR without curves can happily wear this beautifully flattering style with confidence and ease. With a hoop petticoat underneath for hemline fullness, this Couture wedding gown is "traditional"in a way, but with a funky, modern Oriental-inspired twist. AND its actually very comfortable to wear!

The brand new Origami bridal gown sample is now available to try on in my Sydney showroom, and can be ordered & custom-made in any colour and size, with a 4-6 month turnaround. For more info, email me via my website!

Japanese Kimono Wedding Gown

Japanese Kimono Wedding Gown
It's such a fabulous & extremely satisfying feeling when my team & I receive our client's wedding photos... often it's months after they have come for their final fitting, and we have said our "goodbyes" to the gown & the beautiful bride we created it for. Then we receive a CD or a set of prints in the post and....WOW!

It's just so thrilling to see everything come together - our gown, the bride with her groom (whom most of the time we have never met!) her accessories, lovely hair and make-up & stunning flowers, and all the fine details & specific elements of the whole day pieced together as one, like a magnificent jigsaw puzzle finally being completed!
Japanese Kimono Wedding Gown
So I'd like to share these photos with you, from our recent bride Tamaiya. She married Dan in the breathtaking "Hunter Valley Gardens", a few hours from Sydney in wine country - and was blessed with the most perfectly sunny day! The Japanese pagoda where their cereJapanese Kimono Wedding Gownmony took place, surrounded by the wonderful Autumn flowers and foliage, not only suited her Oriental-inspired theme, but also provided shade for all the guests and bridal party.
Japanese Kimono Wedding Gown

Tamaiya's 4-piece Culture Shock Couture gown was custom-made for her with a STUNNING cherry-red vintage kimono, featuring white blossoms, black dip-dyed edges and delicate hand-painted detailing. The custom-made white silk faille gown underneath was our base, layered on top with a detachable fitted waistband, and a separate bustle/train, and a jacket to finish it off - these 3 pieces all made from that very same kimono. We accessorised her 2 bridesmaids with matching narrow sashes at the waist, also from Tamaiya's kimono.

Looking at these wedding photos gives me gJapanese Kimono Wedding Gownreat pride in the design, workmanship, quality and originality of everything that Culture Shock stands for... it's always a team effort and as long as we have brides who are daring enough to try something a little different, we will always be here & ready to create gorgeous & unique bridal gowns! A special thanks to all my team, who work so hard to achieve these wonderful results... I certainly couldn't do it without you all, keep up the amazing work!

bye for now,

Choosing Your Wedding Dresses

Your Wedding Dresses

Your Wedding Dresses

The planning can take such a heavy toll in terms of stress and energy that dieting is simply a bad decision- many brides believe that they It should also be mentioned that very few people actually lose weight in the time leading up to your wedding. No matter what your body type, you will look beautiful on your special day if you choose a dress style that conforms to your body type. You are going to be on display on your wedding day, and choosing a dress that you wished fit you perfectly would be an incredible mistake. Whatever your body shape may be, do not try and fool yourself into thinking it is something else.

With that said, you will want to feel as gorgeous as possible in your wedding gown, and we all have small imperfections that we will want hidden on our most important day. It will be difficult, while in the process of shopping, to hear the terms you have applied so often to yourself while looking in the mirror used by employees at the boutique when you are searching for your dress, and the only way to avoid this is to be comfortable with who you are. Your body is structured according to the ways that nature felt it was best suited, and you should neither hide nor feel embarrassed about this fact when you are looking for you dress. The truth is, every single body type has an inherent beauty that can only be accentuated and flattered with the right choice of wedding dress.
